The Suomi has landed!
Took awhile but my Suomi 9mm from Centerfire Systems has arrived. This will use the same 71 round drum magazine as my MPA-71 which is a bonus as I already have a dozen of them. This is a heavy rifle, in excess of 12 pounds but rock solid. This is a semi auto version of the Finnish Subgun from WWII. In addition to being semi-auto only it has a longer barrel than the originals to make it legal in the US. It will use the 36 round stick or 50 round coffin magazines as well but the drums are inexpensive and work great. This joins my MPA-71, PPSh41, and PPSh43 rounding out my sub-caliber rifle collection. I waited for mine, was on backorder for a few months but Centerfire Systems is showing them in stock currently. Be a few days before I can get in any range time with it but will let everyone know how it shoots. May have to buy another case or two of Wolf 9mm...easy to burn through ammo with 71 round drums!

While 9mm isn't as cheap as 7.62X25, which is what the PPSh43 is chambered for, it isn't so expensive that a case of Wolf isn't out of reach. Not to mention they are great fun at the range, easy to shoot, ok sights, and I guarantee you will draw a crowd...everyone will want to check it out. |

Double extra groovey! Must have range report complete with targets. Simo Hiyah, the sniper with the highest confirmed body count in the world, killed approximately 200 russians with one of those at the battle of Kollah.

SWWEEEETTT!!!
You gotta take all three to the range, fire a few (hundred) rounds and give us the report AND some pix. Take a friend to shoot you firing all three of those bad boys. GREAT LOOKING WEAPON. If we could just get FA as easily as SA, I would be a happy camper. A broke happy camper, but a happy camper none the less. |
Re: The Suomi has landed!
I sold off all my fll auto stuff in the 90's when prices went crazy, only thing I wish I still had is the 1919A4. But that cash bought me some nice suppressed stuff and other goodies such as my Dillon reloading equipment and lots of ullets for reloading. Full auto is fun but oh so expensive to feed, and after Dan Peterson's Original Jungle Lane and the Full Auto Bianchi Shoot ceased being I didn't compete with full auto any longer so selling just made sense.
